History
Established by Civil War veteran Burt Kendrick in 1865, he bought 320 acres by the eastern side of Woodway as it’s known today. Captain Kendrick deed the land for the first school in 1901 and the area was prized as a place for summer getaways in the Rainbow Lake area. In 1950, Santa Fe Drive was officially made a street and the first well was drilled that year, a well that exists even today.
